Bio:
Nicholas was born and raised in London, and now lives in New York. He studied Chinese at Oxford, until he received the Thiel Fellowship, a grant by Peter Thiel for young entrepreneurs who want to take time out of their studies to work on their startup. His first company was in the education space, which he ran in parallel with his studies. Shortly after receiving the Thiel Fellowship, Nicholas began his second business, Headstart, an AI-powered recruiting platform designed to help organizations make data-driven, including hiring decisions.
Headstart was accepted to Y Combinator in 2017, has raised c. $8.5m to date from leading VCs, and has been adopted by global clients such as Accenture and Lazard. Since transitioning to the Chairman role at Headstart, Nicholas set up The Venture Collective to focus on his passion for early stage investing and to drive a meaningful impact on underrepresented founders in their pursuit of developing and raising capital for their businesses, with the collaboration of Family Offices across the globe. In his free time, Nicholas is a mentor via initiatives like Y Combinator’s Startup School and supports large organizations, such as Delta Airlines and the United Nations as an advisor.
